Hertz Car Rental - Roy - West Riverdale Road

This location was the only one in Utah of all different rental agencies that had my back today and got me a last minute one-way rental to Las Vegas when other reservations had been over booked and I was SOL. Big thanks to them for hooking it up, making sure I had a vehicle and even helping me with the type of vehicle. Genuinely grateful today. Merry Christmas.

I reserved a car almost a week ahead of time. I was told a price that I pay when I pick up the rental car. I get there early and the representative asked for my drivers license. I give it to her. Then she told me it was going to be $271. When I asked why she said there’s a deposit. Of $200 which was never disclosed. Then I said fine and ran my card. It was approved for $571. I asked why it says $571 she said oh is that a debt card. I said yes it is a visa debt card. She said oh well it’s a $500 deposit if you use a debit card. Then said and they do a credit check. I said ok well how long until the money is back in my account she said 2 to 3 business days. I said ok give me a minute so I can figure out what to do since I was not told about the deposit. I made an appointment online and called the following morning to make sure there was a car available because I've had problems in the past and the lady that answered the phone seemed like I was interrupting whatever she was doing didn't really seem happy to help me or even be at work. I make a reservation and know where did it say that I'd have to put a security deposit down done Hertz before and I think it was 200 or 250. Then I heard they don't do the security deposit anymore. And then when I get there and she takes my information and ready to pay then she tells me there's a security deposit. I think that should be the very first thing you tell somebody when they get a rental not after you get their driver's license. And run a soft credit pole which that is also new which they didn't do
