Hertz Car Rental - Santa Rosa - Charles M Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS)

Rental pick up was perfect. As I was in a bit of a rush to get to the airport using the rental car, I could not return the car that smelled like someone smoking it previously to the rental station in Santa Rosa. I called customer service and they said there’s nothing they can do but talk to San Francisco where I was dropping the car off. When I spoke to them, the agent said she smelled the smoking and wanted to charge me $500. I told her I did not smoke in the car and then it smelled like smoke before. She said oh I was going to charge you $500. I tried calling customer service the second time and the gentleman spoke and broken. English was frustrated and hung up on me. Just going to add my voice to the choir... The staff here are rude and unhelpful except for Kayden; he was very helpful and friendly and should be given a raise for how much better he is than the other guy. The older guy with the Hispanic accent is extremely rude. Not a pleasant experience dealing with him. Also if you are five star or president's circle status it doesn't seem to have any benefit at this location (I am president's circle and the older guy didn't even know what that is...) Worst airport Hertz I've ever been to. If management actually reads this I want to emphasize that you should look for more employees like Kayden. He's the only one I dealt with who was polite and tried to be helpful.

1 hour wait even though we had reservation, rude staff, and totally unprepared / able to help even with 3 people working. Took 3-4x as long as all the other companies there — do not use Hertz at this location. Enterprise / National is the way to go. Finally got the care and tire pressure was low. Contacted corporate and they said to take it up with management at the location myself - so clearly nothing is being done to manage or improve.

Bait and switched me. Got charged nearly double what I was quoted. Unethical and dishonest. Update: customer service is not helpful. If you click on the link they reply with below your review, it takes you to an even less helpful automated service. I’d recommend to go anywhere but this location. Update: adjusted totals to be under the $50, still far more than the $32 quoted online when I “locked in” my pricing

Christopher was so helpful and kind. Some of the best customer service I've gotten! I reserved the rental at the wrong location, he was just incredibly helpful. Not sure what he gets paid but it's not enough!
