Hertz Car Rental - University Park Airport (SCE)

They did not have the vehicle we reserved so we asked if we could have one of equal rental value. They were hesitant on giving us a vehicle of the same rental price value. The vehicle we were suppose to get apparently was unavailable. But when I went to drop off the other rentals we got, I saw the same vehicle that we were suppose to have with a flat tire. I did point it out to the individual even though I didn't know what rental company it belonged to. Anyway, the car that we finally got was good and bad. The alignment was way off, the report that was done on the car to check to make sure nothing was wrong with it, was a lie. Understaffed and distasteful customer service. If you end up with Shelly ‘helping’ you, you may as well come back a different day. Needed to rent a car (as a college student) for a day to drive to the airport, and was treated with arrogance, anger, and as if they were doing me a favor, when in reality they charged me more than $250+ over what you would expect for a one day car rental. WARNING!!!! I am another dissatisfied State College Airport Hertz Customer. On April 27, 2025, I returned my rental, and when I received my final bill, I was charged 3 additional charges without being told at the time of signing the rental agreement that there would be extra charges. I was not informed that my final bill would include additional charges because the location is not considered a 24-hour location, although I have rented from Hertz numerous times and never received any additional charges after the rental was turned in and left numerous times on early morning flights. Extremely rude and inconsiderate. I called and asked if they had any cars available that I'm not flying into the airport that enterprises suggested calling because enterprises didn't have any vehicles available. So i took my second uber to the airport just to have them tell me they couldn't rent a car to me because I'm to much of a liability since I'm not flying in or out of airport. Which i told them before i even got an uber to the airport. Thanks for adding more money and time for nothing. Worst people

All the reviews are accurate… worst rental car place ever. If I could give zero stars I would. I have never experienced more rude and disrespectful behavior in my life. The hertz rental car company made me feel incompetent and unintelligent while I was asking my questions. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE. I made a reservation well in advance, and they didn’t end up giving me a car. They really screwed me over especially when I needed to go home for the holidays. Shame on Hertz.
