John's Island Car Wash

Just left John’s Island Car Wash and had to leave a 5-star review. The owner, Elliot, is super friendly and you can tell he takes pride in the place. They actually pre-wash your vehicle before you go through the machine, which makes a big difference. My wheels and tires come out looking better than anywhere else I’ve been—I don’t know what they use on them, but it works. The wash also cleans the undercarriage, which is perfect when my truck is caked in dirt. Highly recommend if you want a thorough, quality wash.

Elliott runs a first-class business at a price you WON’T beat. Vehicles are hand-prepped (sprayed with cleaner, hand scrubbed with a soft-bristle brush, rinsed) then put through a full-cycle automatic/brushless car wash. Very nice!

This is by far the best exterior car wash in Charleston... possibly the best in South Carolina. The guys who run this place will literally hand wash and scrub everything on the outside of your car. My car was FILTHY, after a year of neglect and no washes. When he was done, he let me know they had to "upcharge me" only $5... I felt bad cause I was expecting a lot more for the upcharge, so I tipped well. Every single time I go through a laserwash or Cactus or anywhere else around here, I have to come home and wipe dirt off areas that were missed. The gentleman who cleaned my car today spent 20 mins scrubbing and powerwashing my entire car, even the roof. No spots were missed, and I took 4 or 5 trips around the car inspecting it. The 2 gentlemen that work here work very hard to pre wash your vehicle before going into the wash!? Best 20 bucks for a car wash. There is a self service that I haven’t experienced myself because these guys do a great job. Thank you guys for working so hard and diligent.

It's a car wash... 4 bays for DIY washes and a basic touch less drive-thru option. Vacuums available. $3 cash to start the diy gets you about 3 minutes. $10 is about what I spent in quarters when I was all done. Truck was really dirty so I ended up missing some spots in my haste. The brush was really wore out so didn't make great contact, but the foam did come out of it. All the spray options I used worked on the dial, so that was a win. Overall a good experience, I will bring my own brush next time though.
