Kauai Island Car Rentals

We had an amazing experience renting an FUV from Kauai Island Car Rental. The reservation and onboarding process was all digital and very easy to complete. I came in on a cruise ship and the owner coordinated a ride share to pick up our rental (about a 5 minute ride to a large shopping center). I would highly recommend renting an FUV for anyone who wants to explore the island independently. It was a TON of fun driving on the highways and near the beaches in an open air vehicle. You get to experience all the sights, sounds, and smells of the island in the best way.

My husband and I rented this vehicle and it was the best decision. It's electric but the battery lasts a long time, it's easy to drive and park, the price is reasonable, and the service from the person who rents the vehicles is excellent.

I rented an FUV April 24th. After reading more about the FUV and finding out our Insurance does not provide coverage, we decided to rent a car instead. I have tried to cancel the reservation by email and leaving multiple message and the company has not responded. Tonight the voicemail said it was full, so I have filed a dispute with my credit company and hopefully we’ll get our money back. Would not recommend this company at all.

My family and I booked the FUV self guided tour. The tour, FUV, and service were great! The rental agency is only a 5 minute drive from the Norwegian Cruise Line's Pier. TJ was our instructor and assisted us in getting started with the FUV's. The process and operation were simple. The tour permitted us to use our cell phones for GPS navigation to many locations of our choosing, off of two lists with numerous suggestions. We had so much fun that we extended the rentals for 2 hours.

Good luck to those renting with Kauai Island Car Rental! Wish you the best to those putting their trust on them. I’m the one no luck because of their unresponsive rental. I gave them all my information and sign the rental agreement. At the last day before the rental they sent me a email to cancel my booking. They know that I’m arriving by cruise ship and certainly they didn’t aware or care that you might not have internet access. They don’t care! Without awareness of the cancellation I went to the pickup location and there is no way to find their location. With the help of local, still can’t find them. Call them and they told me my booking was cancelled because of maintenance issues and go to find another booking. My vacation is ruined and they don’t care. Be alert, diligence to rent anyth
