I’ve been loyal to Macky since I moved to Ames about 10 years ago. They’ve worked on my old Chevy beaters and Silverado and have always given great service, fair response times, and have been very reasonable to work with. Had a fluke of an issue pop up, had my car towed over, and they didn’t even charge me to look over the vehicle. I just realized I’m always referring people on fb but never left a google review. I was having urgent car problems and was able to get in the same day my problems were happening, the owner of the shop was extremely helpful and communicated well during the entire experience, he also was very honorable in the sense that he could of easily installed a new belt that was unnecessary for my car but decided to use the old belt to save on the final bill. While fixing the initial issue he discovered another problem that he deemed not urgent to fix and educated me on what that problem was And how it could cause problems in the future and came to the conclusion that the problem could wait to be fixed later on. Overall amazing experience highly recommend him for all your car problems!

Fixed my car after it was damaged by another shop in town and didn’t even charge me labor for the new axel after the one put in by the previous shop came apart and broke my wheel bearing. Only shop I’ll go to from now on

I had a rather urgent issue with my truck tailgate being locked and needing to get in there. After calling a couple other shops I was familiar with and being told it'd be a week before they could get me in I called Macky on a whim. Troy said he could take a look at it that morning quick. When I got there, they were able to look at it, diagnose the issue, and get me in and out in about 10-15 minutes even with a shop full of vehicles. Really saved me in a jam. They were honest, fair, and did a fantastic job of explaining/showing me what the issue was and explaining my options moving forward.
