I would like to share my experience with the Mavis Discount Tire store located on 3930 Route 1 N in Monmouth Junction. On Wednesday morning, my car wouldn’t start in my garage while I was on my way to a doctor’s appointment. I called the Mavis store for advice, and George answered. Based on my description, he suggested that the battery might be dead and advised me to call roadside assistance. He made it clear that it was completely my choice whether to replace the battery through roadside service or bring the car into the store—there was no pressure at all. The roadside technician jump-started the car and said the alternator seemed fine. However, I decided to bring the car to George anyway. On the way to a restaurant, we hit a pothole that blew out BOTH passenger-side tires on our Acura, the sidewalls were completely destroyed. We had our children in the car, including our 8-month-old baby, and were stranded about 30 minutes from home. We barely made it to Mavis about 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday. At first, we completely understood that they were closing. But when George saw that we had a car full of kids and realized how severely damaged both tires were, he chose compassion. George stayed behind after closing, long after the rest of the staff had left, and replaced both tires so we could get home safely. He didn’t rush us. He didn’t turn us away. Needed a battery replacement urgently and they were the only shop from 3 that we called who had the battery in stock and could take the car same day. They finished while we waited and pointed out another issue that they also took care of after we agreed. George and the other gentleman who helped me on the phone were courteous and ensured we were satisfied. I would recommend Mavis on Route 1 in South Brunswick.

Made a 10 AM appointment for a simple oil change. Showed up on time, only to sit around for over 1.5 hours without my car being touched. When I asked, no one could give me a clear answer on when they'd actually get to it. An appointment should mean something — I didn't walk in off the street. Wasted 2 hours of my day for absolutely nothing. Would not recommend if you value your time.

They guys here are very helpful and fast. Just brought my car in cause it was shaking at high speed. They found it was just a lot of snow packed in one of the tires. They cleaned the snow out and sent me on my way no charge. Could have found an excuse to charge me but they didn’t. Great people will be back
