This location took one look at me being a woman, my lack of knowledge about cars and tried to scam me out of $800 to fully replace “rusted through” brakes. They told me I let my car sit too long, I mentioned it had been at a shop for the last couple weeks and said that caused it. I told them I would be going to the other shop for an explanation. The other shop looked at it confirmed it was 100% safe and just needed to be driven around and that this level of rust is incredibly common in Maine and diminishes after driving around. I will NEVER come here again. Picture 1 is them at the appointment Picture 2 is them after driving around for 1 day. They should be ashamed of themselves. If this place treats me and my wife the same way as they did today, they will always have my business. I have always been hesitant about repair shops and have done all my maintenance myself- timing belt, rotor and caliper upgrades, radiator replacements, etc. Now that time is limited with kids and life, it became time to find a place for assistance. A couple of years ago, my wife went to a different place nearby with an almost brand new car (less than 15k miles) for a state inspection. They refused to pass it unless she replaced the tires and other things. She went to Midas, which had no issues with the inspection. I went to Midas for a last minute oil change. They were very accommodating. The lady at the counter was very friendly. They even rotated my tires at no extra cost. The waiting area was very clean and comfortable. Very nice to be treated with respect. I definitely will be coming back.
