Oceanside Auto Repair and Smog

My car broke down on the way out of town for a bike race, it was 4pm in the afternoon ON A SATURDAY. Moshi (and anthony I believe) + the team I didn't get to speak too at Oside Auto Repair and Smog were able to ORDER a part and install it in less than an hour. They had to replace my coolant hose, and drain my coolant. It was VERY well priced and I was amazingly well taken care off. I couldn't be more thankful for the fantastic service I received. I would and will recommend them for literally anything you need for your car, from window tint, to full engine replacement or repair, this establishment will take care of you HONESTLY.

If you are looking for quality work and knowledgeable mechanics. Look no further this is the shop to visit and hire for your auto needs. Rick and Mr. Moshi are your guys. I will definitely continue bringing my vehicles to these two gentlemen. Stay blessed.

Brought my Tahoe in for brake repair. Owner Rick was pleasant and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained the needed repair and detailed costs. He promised the vehicle would be ready the following day and he delivered. When picking up my SUV, I dealt with one of his people, Moshi, who was also great to deal with. I was thoroughly pleased with the entire operation and this is now my go-to shop.

The reason for my bad review is that this shop does not have fair or reasonable pricing. See below for details. A friend's car broke down on their way to their honeymoon and I swapped cars with them so they would make their check in time. When they were gone I took the car to this shop to have it diagnosed and figure out the issue. Turns out it was just a simple battery replacement. This shop charges 150 an hour for service with a 1 hour minimum (although I don't like paying this much I get it). When the shop called they wanted 150 for the diagnostic, 400 dollars for a new battery, 30 dollars for the install for a total of 580 dollars not including taxes or fees. I ended up paying the 150 for the diagnostic and just took it to Costco for a new battery. There it was 157.11 and they would
