Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

I want to be very clear about my experience because it involved both excellent service and completely unacceptable customer service. When I first came in, I was helped by someone named Charles. His behavior should not be acceptable in a customer-facing role. He was dismissive, rude, and unwilling to listen. When I called back after realizing the wrong tire had been replaced, Charles told me he would call the manager. When he called me back, he insisted the job had already been completed correctly it had not. When I explained this, instead of offering to have me bring the car back in to take another look, he brushed me off and said the manager might call me the next day. This situation could have been easily de-escalated with basic customer service, but it wasn’t. I felt dismissed and talke

Battery went out on my truck 2/23. Truck stalled out about a block away. Chris (night manager) was extremely helpful. Drove his own car , with battery tester, and jump pack to my location. Spent a significant time out in the cold hooking things up to my truck. He was patient and extremely helpful and went the extra mile in helping me out. 5 star service!!

This has been the year of tire trouble, and truly, PepBoys has helped to make my experience as hassle free as possible. Each time I have been in, their team has been timely, detailed on their evaluations and do not try to upsell. Thank you for this!! I’ve been here twice, once through the right door to grab air fresheners and some glue, and once through the left door to get my tires replaced. Both times they were very kind! I’ve seen nothing but great customer service. The tire replacement was also cheaper than I expected which was great. Very encouraged to come back!

I maybe caught people on a bad day. But I had a completely flat tire. Already drove around trying to find air. Gas station was broken so went to Pep Boys. I was super upset, stuck in the beginning of a snow storm with 2 of my kids. The man working in the shop said their door was broken and he couldn't help me. Then the phone rang and he basically just turned his attention to the phone call and disregarded me. My BIL came to help put my spare tire on for me and I had to go in and buy a tool. The lady was super short and to the point. No small talk, barely eye contact. I am a person who expects people who are in customer service (I myself am in it!) to be chipper, smiling, 'hey how ya doing', and both workers i encountered were not anywhere close to that.
