But I told them that I had a problem with the left rear tire, and they said they would fix it. Today, the sensor showed again that the problem was still there. I thought they had fixed the issue with the left rear tire yesterday, but they didn’t say anything and didn’t even want to give me a receipt. As a result, I came in with a problem with the left rear tire, as shown by the car’s sensor, but they didn’t fix that issue. Instead, they did other work that I didn’t ask for. They told me the car was fine, so I left. It was around 7 p.m., and the next morning on the highway, the same tire I came to fix exploded. They didn’t fix the issue I came for, but for some reason, they worked on the front tires — which I never asked for — and charged me for that repair.
I should have read some of these recent reviews before coming here. My gf's car was over heating so we took it in, diagnostics said it was recommended we spend $3000 to fix it, looking at it $1900 was labor to replace the radiator and connecting pipe.. that's a bit steep but also just 'normal' bad mechanic pricing. What really annoyed me was trying to leave.. after the diagnostics check we waited maybe 15mins before they called us over and gave us the receipt and the 3k recommended actions we said no thanks we'll just take the keys a leave. They said ok.. 10mins goes by and someone says "o they just need to put it back together it will be a few mins". Another 10mins and I'm annoyed by a mosquito in the building so I wait outside where I can see no one is working on the car it's just chill
Hadn’t been to a Pep Boys in years. It looked very different than the stores I remember. But the gentleman who helped me was knowledgeable and quick, and I don’t know if I was just lucky for a change, but it was really reasonably priced reasonable amount of time and all that.
Horrible experience where they keep your car when their system doesn't function correctly to accept payment (I paid with 2 different cards and both cards showed it was ran and pending). Management that days were rude and demeaning when it was their problem. No one, not even corporate, could be bothered to call me back. 5 days later and I still have heard nothing. However, Edwin (who came in to play more than 24 hours in) was a stellar advocate and gave premium customer service. He made all of the calls himself, called me back, explained and helped get this worked through so the car was released. He deserves a raise for cleaning up everyone else's mess and recognition for treating the customer like he cared about us! I still can't believe that they would have kept this car for 4 day
I came in to Pep Boys on Sepulveda near Costco for a free tire check because I heard a noise after driving over something. The adviser convinced me that I needed a 36-dollar suspension check. It seemed odd, but I don't know much about cars and believed the adviser. I then dealt with a different adviser, who took my payment and told me it would take about 2 hours. In about 20 minutes I was contacted. It was indeed a tire issue -- some silly rain-protector was rubbing against the tire and they removed it. The paperwork I got didn't even mention the findings of the suspension report. I also got a free break report, which did include information. I bet they didn't even check anything -- just verbally told me I need an alignment, but I don't trust them at all now. I was planning to use them in
