Dear Ms. Andress and Christina, I think it is important for you to know how my Mom did after leaving Plush Mills. She loved Plush Mills and loved the friends that she made there and they loved her back. When she arrived at Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, Pa about 3 years ago, myself and the staff did not think she would survive a week. She had progressive dementia as you know but declined significantly with her dementia and her physical health when she was confined to the skilled nursing unit at Plush Mills despite my advocacy and the concern of her friends at Plush Mills that she needed to be interacting with the friends she had made for the previous 3 years. She was able to recover and lived very happily until her passing this past January. She attended 2 Phillies minor league games i
My mom have lived at Plush Mills for the past 21 months. She was in independent living up until 5 months ago. Although she remains very functional, her progressive dementia forced her to now live in Personal Care. I found Plush Mills to be a tremendous place if a resident is independent. They offer a lot and the socialization was great for my mom. I do not see those same opportunities being offered since she is in Personal Care. It seems like residents are treated much differently and are much more restricted in PC which only worsens their mental decline. My mom is capable and functional to return to her prior socialization routine but it would take a concerted effort from Plush Mills. I have also found that trying to discuss these issues with the GM , nursing, or the President of Sage is
