Sam's Club Tire & Battery

Horrible customer service: tried to make an appointment by phone and update my membership info since I no longer use the phone number on file, but got accused of sharing membership because I cannot match the email they have on file, but when I check my account online, it is the one I gave her, so totally unacceptable and infuriating. She jumped to conclusion to accuse the customer instead.

Got a new set of tires a few years ago for about $600. I liked that they came with free lifetime balance and rotation. But every time I tried to go in to get them rotated and balanced, they said "we're booked, we can't get you in today." I'd ask to set an appointment for the next day and they said "we don't set appointments, it's first come first served." So I wasn't able to get my tires rotated and balanced as frequently as they recommended. One of the tires wound up blowing and they refused to honor the warranty because I hadn't gotten my tires rotated and balanced on their recommended schedule. That's the last set of tires I'll buy from Sam's Club.

Service is so slow. Had an appointment for 11 a.m. There were two people in front of me and waited in line for 10 minutes until I was helped. I was told it would take 45-60 minute for the tire rotation. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes! A reminder -- this is with a scheduled appointment! They simply need more people in the back and up front.

Incompetence and terrible treatment between the Membership Services, Tire Department, and the management at the store. I had brought my vehicle in for it's first tire change since I bought it brand new from Markquart and the mechanics not only stripped the threading on the lug nuts but screwed up my brake pads. The mechanic used a mallet or a hammer on the tire to try and loosen the lug nuts which ended up stripping the threading when he used an air tool to remove them. But even more costly, he damaged the brake pads by hitting it with a hammer causing misalignment and physical damage. When asked on how they were going to fix this the manager and mechanic said there was nothing they could do but assured me the vehicle was safe to drive. Broke a lug nut and stem on my vehicle and didn’t have the capability to fix it. Didn’t compensate me for damages either. The repair cost me $100 on short notice at another shop.
