Satch Works is a Community Treasure!!! They are so courteous and professional in their diagnosis and repair. We are so grateful to Micah Cartmel and Satch Works knowledgable mechanical experts - experts with a heart too. Our story is We hit the curb hard on the very narrow, newly- constructed section of Discovery Road when the sun was suddenly shining intensely there. Fortunately we had really slowed down when the sun glare started, but we hit the curb anyway. It tore loose bolts holding the plastic undercarriage under- cover of the car, and that continued to shake loose. The great mechanics at Satch Works put it back together for us, a very neat, great job, and most amazingly charged us nothing for this help. Their kindness really touched us. All loaded up and ready to drive out of town and my totally dependable Subaru would not start. Something seriously wrong. As the car never needed work, I didn't have a local mechanic... I called Satch Works. Like all the great shops in town, he was booked out for 6 weeks and he was also short handed right before Labor Day. Still I was told to have it towed and somehow he would fit it in. Less than 48 hours later I got a call. All fixed. Less than the original estimate. The mice had been at work chewing through the wiring harness. Truly great, friendly service. Over and above what is expected!

I was visiting PT for a music festival, but after the 4-hour drive from Portland, my 2003 Honda CRV started stalling and wouldn't idle--and I'd spent a bunch money having it serviced before leaving! My local friends said this place was the best. It was the week of July 4, so they were only going to be open three days. I had no appointment, and when I arrived I could tell they were very busy. But I told my sad story, and they took pity on me and worked me in. They had my car fixed the next day (it was a torn air intake hose) for a reasonable price, and it got me home with no problems. They really seem to care, and they take pride in their work. Everyone I talked to was exceptionally friendly, and the whole experience was as much of a pleasure as a car breakdown on vacation can be. 😅

Have you ever brought a car to a mechanic and end up with a vehicle that is worse than when you brought it in?I knew this place would be more than other, and I was hoping this would bring quality. Boy, I was wrong! Had a o2 sensor and some suspected mouse damage- after 3 days I get the recommendation on tires to be changed. The lights came back on and now the car idle is worse! I should have listened to people who warned me about this shop. Never again! So frustrating and expensive for nothing!

Satch has a new shop in Port Townsend, the service work was completed and my car ran much better after. The mechanic did a great job. A popular spot already. They were booked out almost a month. Well worth the wait, I walked home after dropping the car off. Much nicer than waiting in a sales lobby at a dealers showroom.
