Silverbell Homestead

Silverbell is an amazing MUAHS. I chose this place for my loved one because of how cozy and welcoming the atmosphere is. It doesn’t feel like many of the places in the area. The chef there prepares better meals than I cook for my family. The Dignity Care team caregivers that service Silverbell are always so helpful and compassionate with everyone there.

Silverbell Homestead is NOT a licensed assisted living facility and has received cease and desist orders from the state requiring residents to relocate immediately. Despite these legal orders, the owner has repeatedly been misleading families and staff about the facility's status, apparently prioritizing financial concerns over the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable residents. This deception has caused tremendous disruption and hardship for residents who must now find emergency placement elsewhere, their families scrambling to relocate loved ones, and staff members who were misled about their employer's legal standing. I see residents here in my role as a home care RN. They are treated well, fed real home cooked meals cooked in a home kitchen setting and eat together in the dining room. The staff is skilled to an appropriate level. One of the best residential assisted living places I have ever been to. I've heard there's a long wait list and I see why.

It's hard not to fill this review up with a list of superlatives, so I'll just tell you a story. My darling wife and partner of 33 years has been dealing with an Alzheimer's / dementia diagnosis for 6 years now. After 24/7 caregiving became more than I could handle in our home we looked at a number of options to place her for assisted living and long term care. One of our primary goals was to find a place that felt more like a HOME instead of like an institution, or like a hospital. Somebody we trust suggested Silverbell Homestead and my wife's sister visited with me in November. It was immediately clear that this was THE PLACE for us. I had my mom at Silverbell Homestead for two years until she passed. The owner and staff were always kind and helpful even after she was gone. She found this place to be very comforting and safe. Rae's MUAHS model is definitely what I would recommend for anyone who wants their elderly loved ones to have a safe place to live but still retain their Independence.
