Slate Cut Diesel and Auto

We were in Crested Butte for the weekend doing hikes off of mountain passes and our check engine light came on. It was a Friday afternoon, and Galand came to our rescue. He quickly diagnosed the issue, determined it didn’t need immediate attention, and got us on our way. We were able to finish our hikes and enjoy the rest of our weekend without worrying. What a great guy! We totally recommend Galand at Slate Cut Auto!

I can't recommend Galand and Slate Cut enough. Our brakes went out on our 4Runner while visiting Crested Butte, a very scary situation. Galand was able to get us in same day and back up and running the next even with being booked out until August. Fantastic work from a Colorado lifer familiar with the area's challenging mountain roads. Not to mention he's a straight up great guy! 5+ stars

Trustworthy and timely service. Two important traits needed in the stressful situation we faced while on a trip with my Ram 3500 tow vehicle in June, 2025. We had a radiator hose and connector tube burst. Galand repaired the truck quickly and in a professional manner. I trusted him so much, I requested that he replace the serpentine belt also. I trust him still to this day and "NO" I am not related to Galand. Never met him prior to my road trip problems. Our 15 passenger bus broke down after coming down Cottonwood Pass, off Jacks Cabin. With 8 kiddos in the car and a flight to catch the next morning, Galand kindly took a quick peek at the car, topped up our power steering and provided sound diagnostics/advice, despite being totally booked out for weeks - and refused a $tip. VERY grateful!

Great service provided here. My radiator blew as I arrived into CB for vacation and the mechanic fixed my car in a short amount of time. He kept me well updated on the status of my vehicle.
