Rented a car here for a trip to Oregon. Prices were decent, car ran great & was clean, and drop off/pick up were smooth and easy. And Dylan who works there was so helpful in answering my questions and quickly checking my car back in and reimbursing my deposit. I’ll definitely go here again next time I need to rent a car.

When trying to rent a car… Jesus Was very professional and personable He had a very good attitude And he did not waste a minute of my time I really appreciate that He took my insurance policy my payment Drivers license Input it into his system, grabbed a key I was Driving off the lot within 20 Minutes. No headaches No Hassles. 10 out of 10 recommend Smiths Rentals. Now It was very fairly priced to rent a car for one week I think it cost me 335. For a mid size vehicle, The car is very clean, And in very good condition, I paid a $200 deposit which is more than fair. Yay Smi

Avoid this place at all costs. At the time of this posting, Smith's has 127 Yelp reviews, 90 of which are one-star. They are a catalog of incompetent and unethical business practices, and will give ample reason to take your business elsewhere. In my case, renting a van, I encountered their "policy" to refuse to rent to anyone who doesn't purchase their add-on insurance, which is diametrically opposed to the California Department of Insurance regulations on the topic. Check out section 1758.82(b)(2), "Ethical Sales Practices," to read the opposite of what you'll find at Smith's Rent-A-Car. If I had had the time, I would have walked out and taken my business elsewhere. Rented a car with the intention of driving to LA. They rented me a car that had a donut tire instead of a regular one. Then as I was crossing the Richmond Bridge the tire pressure light came on. I called them on they promised me I was good to travel to LA. Suffice it to say I of course did not attempt the trip. But I did keep the rental for the 2 days I paid for. Given all that they still had the audacity to charge me full price plus an extra day because EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD I COULD COME BACK AT 4:30, the rep there (who also didn't know what a spare tire was) said I was supposed to come back at 11:30am.
