Went in to have an alternator rebuilt. The start of the interaction (With whom I assume is the owner) was great, even laughing and making jokes. All of a sudden his entire personality took a 180. He refused to help me, because he said I needed to have someone else call him. ( I admit I'm not mechanically inclined but I had the Vin number and I answered his questions to the best of my ability.) He said, "I don't know what you need and I don't need to sell an alternator today". He Then demanded I pay for the testing, which I said was no problem and pulled out my form of payment, he followed up by telling me if I had bought something that fee would have been waived (after refusing to sell me anything). Needed Cummins starter. Only 15 available and all in Tampa. Southern Auto Electric had rebuilt in stock and only charged what it would be to rebuild. I was able to get needed generator up and running today instead of waiting 3 days. Great Job!

The owner took the time to talk with me personally about rebuilding a starter for a vehicle that was never built in the US. He was very helpful, took the time to talk to me about the starter before and after the repair was completed and did an excellent job. I will continue to come to him in the future. Thank you

Done satisfactory business with this company for more than 30 yrs. Had a phone conversation with Ronnie yesterday about alternators for 2 different applications. One was in stock, the other would need to be rebuilt. Price on stock item was reasonable. But I must've asked an unreasonable question when I inquired whether it might be cheaper to rebuild than to replace--from there the conversation took a turn and ended suddenly with a hangup after--you have a good day, sir! Perhaps the owner is trying to run off all his customers before closing shop to retire. Can't make sense of it. Would've done business with them on 2 alternators. Pay attention to other negative reviews. BE WARE!
