Subaru of Portland Parts Department

So disappointed with Subaru dealerships on multiple levels. Did you know that key replacements and fobs can be obtained through outside business from the dealerships( like reputable local locksmiths) for less than half the price!! I was charged 656$ for one key and fob set by Subaru. Then later found out it could have been $260 from a local locksmith with over 900 5 star reviews.. And it would be same day service where they come to you! No traveling or towing needed. 😳 I had to go through unanswered voicemails, texts, unhappy unwilling clerks to be charged double by the dealership that I have been faithful to! And still wait a week or so for the key to come in and be programmed! I think everyone should know this. If this info only helps a couple people to save their money then that is

I cannot advise against trying to get parts from here strongly enough. After having an online order cancelled with no explanation and an emailed order ignored, I finally went in person and was begrudgingly allowed the privilege of ordering parts, which to be fair did come in the time I was advised they would. The parts cost over double what any source quoted earlier said or what any other OEM source for these very simple parts cost, and the person who ran my card made it clear that it would be difficult to tell how much I owed before I paid it. I let it go because honestly the $30 overcharge felt like a deal to not have to talk to them again. Overall, they act like you are a nuisance, charge exorbitantly, and make it clear that your business is unwelcome. Honestly it's my own fault f

They have the parts you need but this franchise owner sets prices at literally 300-400% markup on some products. If you need something in a pinch, fine, otherwise plan ahead and order elsewhere.

Charging 3x MSRP on parts (or 4x wholesale price). This is why everyone hates dealerships. Just really poor and rude behavior, and they don’t care at all

I have to agree with the review by Peter B. I've bought a few items from the parts department and they didn't acknowledge my presence at the counter. When a personnel finally asked what I needed they were stale to say the least. The "service" department is quite the opposite with great service. Perhaps they can give the parts' folks some pointers.
