I live in Massachusetts but am buying a used car in CT so I was looking for an independent mechanic near the dealership in Torrington. I chose this one based on the exceptional online reviews (the highest aggregate rating of any in the area). What I discovered is that there is a clear reason this Superior Automotive earns all these raves: the owner and mechanic. They were completely flexible about scheduling, clearly knowledgeable, attentive and thorough in their feedback, generous to a fault in pricing, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I wish we had mechanics like this in Massachusetts. So above and beyond, truly living up to its name.

What a great find! A family member’s car broke down on the road and we needed to get him up and running asap. After calling 5 other garages, Superior was the only one that said they could do the work the following day AND was able to provide an estimate on the call. Not only did they finish the job as promised, they also fixed a missing brake light(no charge) and identified another critical issue. Fast, knowledgeable, professional, HONEST, easy to work with and VERY REASONABLE PRICING! We will definitely be back for future repairs!

Judd did a phenomenal job fixing up my 05mustang GT. Called at least 5 shops in the area to get my Rear differential swapped. For those who don’t know it’s a big involved job so many shops didn’t want the job. It takes precision and he got me a replacement within a day or 2 and swapped my gears within a few days. I couldn’t have been happier, he’s incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He got my pony back and running like a champ. Not to mention he offered to swap my Gears for 4.10s for more than fair price. I’ll definitely be going back. This is my new shop here
