Tamarack Property Management

I live in a tamarack unit in Missoula . It was labeled affordable 1,000$ a month when I first moved in but now they have upped the rent for the 2nd time in a year to 2,500$ a month and no garage or anything special. Also maintenance requests take a long time to get handled and a lot of the building still is from the 90’s. No upgrades with the rent raise!

In addition to constant turnover of office staff, property managers, maintenance staff, and maintenance managers, Tamarack Property Management consistently fails to provide tenants written or verbal notices before entering rental units for maintenance or apartment unit inspections. They get away with it by vehement denial, and gaslighting tenants that 24-hour notices were posted and and then they simultaneously threaten tenants with breach of contract or lease and threaten the tenant with eviction. Toxic, illegal fear tactics are used by Tamarack Property Management consistently. Failing to provide tenants at least 24 hours' written or verbal notice before entering a rental unit for maintenance or inspections, unless it is an emergency is a violation of tenant rights. Very bad! Insanely bad! They stopped accepting my monthly auto payments without my knowledge and gave me no promising course of action to continue paying electronically. Zero stars if I could.

Tamarack Property Management is an utter disaster. UPDATE: 12/20/25. Merry Christmas 🎄 from Tamarack and Homeward! While I appreciate the two months notice, was it really necessary to send a rent increase notice just days before Christmas?! Included with the rent increase notice was a lovely letter from Erin with Homeword acknowledging that they understand that this increase will be hard on some people. On the second page she offers a few possible resources that may be helpful. One of them is to have an income recertification done if your income is significantly lower than when you moved in. Hmm, I wonder how she expects that to happen?? I personally asked for that in person and in writing more than once last year and Bella continually ignored my requests and never got back to me about it

Tamarack rental property offers "equal opportunity housing" which means you can make too much or too little to rent their properties. That's an awesome sentiment and important for helping keep Missoula affordable for locals right now, however, the rental prices are still just as high as the rest of the market. If, as a single person household, you make over 30k/year you're disqualified to rent their $900/month apartment. Spending $900/month on rent if you make under 30k/year is not a good financial decision. So Tamarack is blocking those of us who make over 30k from finding a place and price gauging the ones that do qualify by making under 30k. Either lower your prices to actually make it affordable for those you're trying to serve or do away with the "equal opportunity housing" gimmick an
