The Homestead at Rochester

Be cautious choosing to work here. Results don't outweigh office politics. There are a few entrenched entities that have immense pull. I grew our occupancy from 82% to 94% in 8 short months and was still let go over vague reasons. This was in July and I've debated leaving a review. However, I think it's important to share my experience. There were some good things about the position. All in all, they expect a tremendous amount out of each person especially in leadership and there is little support from corporate.

My dad is currently a patient at the short term rehab facility. He has complained that the staff is not very nice. I visited, and there were towels on the floor (fall hazzard). Not sure how often they come in to tidy up, but he said it's not very often. Maybe provide a laundry basket in the bathroom. Thin bedding, lousy food. Do better.

Our family placed our Dad at The Homestead in memory care. It was such a stressful and difficult time for us. We worked with Hannah in marketing to get our Dad admitted and she made it a very positive experience. She was very reassuring and explained the process and paperwork thoroughly. Hannah also introduced us to the memory support coordinator, Cherie. We were so impressed with Cherie's energy, wisdom, and care for the residents. We also met with the nurse, Christine, who was incredibly helpful to get us settled with the medical issues. My overall experience with the Homestead is that it is truly a "home" for our dad. We are so fortunate that he is at a place that has a team of extraordinary people caring for him. It is a beautiful community there. I would highly recommend the Homestead

We have friends living here. What a place. The grounds are gorgeous. There is a lot to do with game room ,exercise rooms and a library. We toured the buildings and saw lots of groups of residents seeming to have fun

Please, Please think twice before sending your loved ones to Homestead. We have had an awful experience with my grandmothers residency. She started out in their brand new independent living but then had a back injury which we then transferred her to assisted living. The cost of assisted living for her is over 4,000/month and she gets one shower a week with assistance, yes, that is all. My grandmother asks for very little and has really retained her ability to be independent with a few needs but with that being said she has been completely taken advantage of; not only from a perspective of overcharging her but the care was substandard.
