Toad's Kin Car Co

It's SO nice to be able to trust my mechanic for complete, reality-based diagnosis and costs. When I ask for his opinions, he'll never push for more work but I'm glad to have his advice. Over the years, Bob at Toad's has done a bit of everything on my several vehicles, mostly Volvos. He's a breath of fresh air for me, because my job is wrangling contractors that look to skimp and gauge. I can drop off my car and NOT WORRY about it! Thank you Bob, live long and prosper, but have enough fun so you don't retire before I'm dead.

I currently live in NC. Previously I lived 60+ years of my life in MA. 2 years ago, I had one of my 2 Toyotas, an MR2, towed to Toad's Kin with the hope of resurrecting its 2.2l engine, which had been neglected for over 2 years, for reasons beyond my control. Bob managed to make it run, but, alas, it didn't hold up. At least he tried. Rad located another 2.2, while offering advice and comforting conversation. Most car mechanics in my experience don't offer such a thorough experience, usually leaving the counseling to the therapists. Bob, in addition to the replacement motor, was incredibly thorough, also: he replaced the timing belt, water pump, clutch, release bearing, oil, filter, air filter and a host of other small parts, adjustments etc. I then drove the car to NC, and haven't ha

Switched to Bob recently because all of my housemates use him. These are straight shooter mechanics doing an honest job. Had to have my entire clutch done, and it broke almost right out the door! Not their fault necessarily, stuff happens, faulty parts, but they made it right by doing the whole job over again and not charging me a dime for labor. Whenever I have a problem beyond my technical means, which aren't much, I will be going straight to Toad's.

Todd’s friend hit my vehicle, told me not to call the police because his friend would take care of it. I showed up to Todd’s brokedown auto shop, and he was extremely rude for no reason. Feels like they’re both scam artists, so now I have to call the cops. 0/10 Would Not Recommend!

Excellent service!! Got everything I needed done in a very timely manor, Bob laid out all of my options for repair simply and helped me trim the fat off of the operation to save me a bit of cash. Won’t be taking my vehicles anywhere else anymore, highly recommended!
