I was in a pinch because I’m living 2.5 hours out of town, and needed to figure out what was up with a couple small electronic issues on my old rig. I asked a guy sitting with his dog outside the natural foods store if he had a mechanic in town he trusted and he said these guys had the place I was looking for. I buzzed over in a couple minutes and Jared took immediate time out of his busy afternoon to help me quickly diagnose and fix a blown fuse. He was trustworthy, sympathetic, kind, helpful, and a natural educator for this auto-novice. Super grateful for the time and effort. Their reputation turned out to be well-earned!

I paid for them to change the head gasket which should have included the timing belts and radiator. That cost over 1k. They kept my one and only car for over three weeks to do it. The car rental cost me 1k as I'm a single mom who works and has a baby. However a year and a half later my radiator blew and I brought it in to a shop in town who specializes in foreign cars confirmed to me that they did not change the timing belts and the radiator never got changed which should have been Included. This has been devesting and they flat out ripped me off. I do not recommend. This has been financially devastating for me.

Competent and will not tackle stuff they don't feel they can do adequately.

I had to send in my car last minute for a possible blown head gasket and broken hatchback door before I went on vacation. They had no problem with leaving my car there for three weeks while I was gone. Turns out that it wasn’t a head gasket issue and they also were able to fix my back hatch without ordering a new part. They could have totally taken advantage of ordering parts and racking up a bill since I was out of country but they were very honest about everything. I ended up paying $180 instead of $1,600+. They took great care of my car and had outstanding service. Honest mechanics like this are hard to come by. You guys are awesome. Highly recommend Toms Auto Service. Had a radiator leak problem while traveling in Oregon. Located Tom's Auto Service for a repair in Grants Pass. Jared, Jeff etc. were professional and efficient in addressing the problem and getting us successfully back on the road and home. Most appreciated. Update: Back in the same area two years later with a starter problem while travelling again in July 2024. Once again, Jared came to our rescue and got our starter replaced quickly and got us on the road to our reservations several hundred miles away. Terrific, accommodating shop for our emergency.
