While traveling home from Missouri to Florida, the engine light came on in Birmingham Ala. After a stop at an auto parts store, it was coding for an issue with the transmission. I got off highway and stopped at a hotel for the night. I started looking for shops that were somewhat close to where I was staying. The next day, after not getting an answer at the first one I called, I called Valley Drive Auto and Brian answered the phone. He told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it. After he took it for a test drive and monitoring the truck, he determined the best course of action would be to replace the transmission and I agreed. Brought my SUV in for what I was afraid was going to be a big job and turned out to be a minor thing, they just charged me 1/2 hour labor. Love having an ethical auto repair place!! I also recommended a friend who had gotten a quote for $3500 at Firestone and Valley Auto took care of him for $175!!

Their staff is amazing here. Very attentive, super friendly, helpful, and a quick turn around. I brought my car to them for a second opinion on needing to replace my engine. My original mechanic was cheaper so I had to go with him for the work. If I had the money I honestly would have stuck with Valley Auto just because their service is that great and they are that quick. They didn’t even charge me for diagnostics and were professional when I told them I had to go elsewhere due to cost. They are an honest, nice bunch. I’ll do business with them in the future.

Im updating this review because I have lost track of the bad parts Valley Drive Auto has put in my car. Because of Valley Drive I’ve been stranded in parking lots late at night and have had to tow my car more times than I can count. I really wanted to believe in them because they were so accommodating when the first part they installed went bad, But I think we’re going on three bad parts now: alternator twice and now the starter. The money that I have spent far outweighs any credit they could give me or any more accommodations they could make. Between the tows and having to have all of the parts replaced at a new mechanic I’ve quite literally spent thousands of dollars. The Vulcan tire and Automotive confirmed that the parts they were putting in my car had no name brand and were likely not

I have used Valley Auto for several general repairs in the past. I was told I needed brakes and rotors replaced when I got an oil change elsewhere. I took it to Valley and they said it is not time… not even close. That kind of honesty is rare. Every experience I have had at Valley has been fabulous. Good honest mechanics.
