Walmart Auto Care Center

I woke up to a flat tire yesterday morning in Lake Charles and was heading back to Houston. I put enough air in the tire to get to Walmart to have it checked out. There were no other cars being serviced, so I asked them if they were able to change the oil on my car as well. The oil was getting near time to change, and since I was already there and there was no line, why not. I had just checked my oil life and levels two days before because I was leaving to go to Hammond. It was all fine. I sat at Walmart yesterday for over two hours yesterday to have one tire changed and to be told they could not change my oil because I did not have a dipstick, that mine is electronic. Was at the tire place and didn’t have an appointment and another lady who was waiting also left and went somewhere and came back with a good size ice chest usually cost was 17.95 , she said it was $9.00, well u know it I got me one , and I was able to leave and go get a few items in store. Nice setting no problems no issues . A wonderful atmosphere ( Nelson)

Zero stars if possible. Called, was told appt was best. Scheduled for recommended least busy time. Employees had locked the entrance so we had to duck under the chain and unlock door to enter (90 min after opening). Arrived on time for appt, no other vehicles. Got 9 items, automotive says check out up front. We trek back up to front to be told we can't pay for oil change there despite barcode. So we trek back to automotive where after an hour and 1 other customer, it was finally ready. It wasn't the wait or technicians. It was Carmen gossiping with the coworker when the technician is waiting to hand her the ticket and keys that got us. Never again. Not to mention how did a $26 oil change become $47?

Update. I think they may have stolen one or more of our tires. I was doing this as a favor for my son, taking care of his tires because he works a lot, and on a weird schedule. I had inspected the driver's side tires and they looked very good to me. Plenty of tread. But he said they were old and losing air. They were losing a lot of air, so I just went with it. When we took a 40 minute drive later that night, after I had gone to Walmart, I was worried about the tires, because of the lack of holding air, so I checked them out again. The front driver side was almost completely worn down! The tread was gone! I thought something was seriously wrong because how could the tread have worn down so quickly? It literally did not occur to me until I discussed it with my son later that maybe Walmart h

My husband and I went here to get a battery replacement. We waited for about 30-40 minutes (battery test had failed after like 5 minutes so why did we still get no help?) on the manager Dustin to get back so he can do the free replacement of a battery. There was only one worker checking out customers while the manager and another employee (that said he was going look for the manager) was no where in sight. Never got what we needed and there was another customer who did not get what he needed. We left and went to Gertsner-Memorial’s Walmart. So much better and faster.
