Absolutely wonderful! I made the decision to buy a SMART car off the side of the road. The seller cleared/hid the OBD fail codes. Both were for emissions (of course the only thing that needs to pass inspection). SMARTs are made by Mercedes. The only SMART repair shop is New Country in Hartford and their rates for repair are on a "Mercedes rich" scale. On to my experience with Al's Garage...I brought in my SMART car to Ronny at Al's. He'd never worked on a SMART car before, but he's a master mechanic, embraced the challenge and he gave it a go! He did amazing work for me...new brakes, tune up, new seat buckle, transmission drain and fill, new motor mount and more little pesky things. Anyway, he charged me a very, very fair price. I've been a customer of Al's garage since 2019, and I wish to never go to a different garage. Everyone who works there is very kind, I've met Ron, Earl, Mary Jane. They are very skilled and they can usually repair your car very quickly. I've never had to wait more than a day to get my car in. My car recently needed a new thermostat and a new alternator. Both repairs were done within one day. I always catch myself saying "I didn't expect my car to be done already." I have never had any problems with their work or repairs and they pinpoint issues quickly and accurately and it's fixed in a shake of a lamb's tail. They are also kind and easy to speak with. I have been a customer at Al's Garage for 21 years. Ron the owner is a real mechanic not a "spare part shifter". He has the ability to repair most of yesterday's and today's cars. His co-worker also does an excellent job. Ron is friendly and always takes care of his customers in a personal way. A visit to Al's Garage is like visiting an old friend. Ron always tries to make repairs in the best and cheapest way, and he also looking for the best spare parts prices for you. Ron explains to the customer what needs to be repaired immediately and what needs to be addressed in the future.
