Avis Car Rental

Awful customer service. She was rude and snapped at me and was not helpful at all. Reluctant to answer any questions, said my question was weird. Slams my keys down on the desk. I decided to cancel my reservation. Tried to wish her a nice day while leaving and she snapped back rudely.

I showed up at the Allston AVIS branch at 9:30 AM for my confirmed reservation, and the employee, Terry, told me there were no cars available. I thought she was joking at first, but apparently six other people were in the same situation. Mistakes can happen, but what made this a nightmare was how little she cared. She said the next car wouldn’t be available until 3 PM and told me to “try another branch,” then just sat there doing nothing. She didn’t call anyone, didn’t check other branches, and when I asked what I could do, she literally said, “That’s a good question.” She gave me two useless phone numbers that no one answered and offered no other help. I ended up fixing the problem myself by calling the Cambridge branch after looking up their number MYSELF. The guy there actually helped

I recently rented a car for the weekend with a return time of 2pm on Sunday. Their website says the office closes at 2pm and they allowed me to book the car for a return time of 2pm. However when I arrived at the location to return the car, the office was closed with Post-It note on the window with updated closing hour of 1pm (see photo) and a sign that says “No after-hours dropoffs accepted”. I had a train going out of town to catch and did not have time to take the car to another Avis location, so I had to leave the car in their lot and drop the keys in a mailbox I found on the side of the building. The central Avis support team told me that if I left the car in the parking lot, I would be responsible for any damages caused overnight and that I had to call this location in the morning t

I recently rented 2 cars from here and had a fantastic experience. I was concerned by the low ratings and they let me know that they recently got new ownership and unfortunately have to deal with the legacy of previous leadership issues. So I felt compelled to write a review. The staff was friendly, the process was quick, and the car was in excellent condition. Returning the car was just as easy. Highly recommend Avis for reliable and stress-free car rentals! I need rentals frequently for work- for our out-of-state colleagues visiting - and I have no doubt I will use this location again.

I had a pretty bad experience renting a car last weekend there. Took forever for them to get me my car. Tire light was on. No windshield washer fluid. And oil change maintence light on. If I wanted all those lights on I would have just took my own car for drive lol 😂 Plus, I showed up a few minutes on Sunday after 2:00 and they made me drop off at Charles Hotel In Harvard square. They weren’t very helpful bad customer service
