Avis Rent a Car

I’ve used this location multiple times and had a great experience. Eva has been extremely helpful and professional. She goes out of her way to make sure to keep me an Avis and Budget customer. Dawn was very helpful also as is the new young woman who started within the last year.

I wish I had read the reviews and not rented a car from here. I had to try three different cars before finding an acceptable one. The first one was dirty with bird poop on the outside and trash on the inside, and the second reeked of cigarette smoke. Most critically, my car was not marked as returned and a huge bill has appeared on my credit card. I've also been charged tolls twice for the period where I didn't have the car. I've contacted Avis customer support and will be filing a dispute with my credit card company. Everything about this experience was a nightmare.

I had a reservation for 5:00 PM, and if Avis let me make the reservation obviously they are supposed to be open. I arrived a few minutes early, but there was no one at the desk. I called the number listed three times with no answer, and then received a text saying, “Sorry, we are closed for the day.” I’m confused—officially you’re open until 5 PM, I had a reservation, and I came early. If you knew someone was coming, why leave early? This was extremely inconvenient; I needed the car and didn’t get it because whoever was supposed to be there apparently decided to take a vacation!

If I could give Avid Car Rental zero stars, I would. First, the pricing is a complete scam. When I asked the desk agent how much it would cost to rent a car, they casually said “around $220–$230,” and maybe “10% less if you book online.” So imagine my surprise when I found a $90 booking online — naturally, I booked it. What did I get for my “deal”? A beat-up Honda Civic that reeked so strongly of cigarette smoke it was like stepping into a gas station ashtray. It hadn’t been detailed in what looked like months — the inside was dirty, the outside was filthy, and it felt like they dragged it out from behind the building five minutes before handing me the keys. I had to rent a car because my car broke down the night before. Im an essential worker with 2 jobs trying to make ends meet. I rented online I use to be a regular at this branch when Yvette was running things. So I returned I paid up front and I asked the guy working there if I need it for another week while they figure out what is wrong with my car will the rate I have for the car be the same and he says yes. Well to my surprise... after calling customer service to find out why they took $400 dollars out my account. The rate is not the same eventhough I still had the vehicle. I don't appreciate being lied to. I work hard for my money. Yvette is a better fit for the location unfortunately she moved on and so will I now.
