Azalea Estates Gracious Retirement Living

The management and staff at Azalea is incredibly hard-working, caring, and competent. My father-in-law, who is 88, has thrived there. Windy is terrific.

My mother has lived at Azalea Estates for three years. Despite recent staffing changes, the sense of community here remains strong. The activities programs continue to provide enriching experiences for residents, and the dining options remain enjoyable. While turnover can be concerning to some, the community has demonstrated resilience and a continued focus on the resident, which is truly appreciated. Thank you to management for all you do and for ensuring you have the best team in place for my mother!

While searching for a place for my mom to transition to as she ages we were recommended by numerous people to look into Azalea and we were all very impressed with both the facility and the staff. It felt like walking into a comfortable and welcoming home. Wendy, Kaitlin and everyone we met with were all extremely helpful, honest, and kind. We decided on choosing Azalea for my Mom and felt extremely relieved and comfortable with our decision. Thanks for all the help and honesty while making this difficult decision.

I had the pleasure to tour Azalea Estates on 9/4/24. I was so pleased with the beauty and clean surroundings, friendly employees and Residents that I met during the tour. Katelyn, Marketing and Sales, took me on the tour. She is a lovely lady, that gave a thorough tour of this Beautiful Independent Living Apartment Complex. I am considering the possibility of getting an Apartment in this Complex within the next year.

07/19/2025 To appreciate this review to the fullest be sure to read the original review below. I apologize for the first review. We had just moved to Azalea Estates and alas, I drank the Cool-Aid. The degree of staff turnover since we moved to Azalea is incredible. Two extremely capable assistant managers, at least two executive chefs, 3 activity directors, 1 marketing director, and a virtually complete turnover of housekeeping staff. Resident complaints to corporate headquarters (Hawthorne Senior Living) were sufficiently numerous as to result in an onsite investigation by senior management. The results were underwhelming. Nothing improved; this I infer to indicate that the inept management displayed by the General Manager, Windy Read, is condoned by Hawthorne senior management.
