As the now former Executive Director of this community I want to highly encourage you to bring your loved one here! This is not the shiny new penny like many of the newer communities but you will never find a better group of staff and residents! The community is clean and well cared for by tenured staff that truly care for the people they serve. The kitchen staff has a combined 41 years of cooking experience with Brookdale and it shows! They cook with love and care and make some dang good food! The Health and Wellness Nurse, Laura Ramirez is one of the kindest, calmest people I have ever had the honor of working with. Brookdale South is such a special place. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, not just from the cozy environment, but from the people who work there, like the greeting you receive from Ashley at the front. Misty, the Executive Director, leads with her heart and always makes time for residents and families. She’s approachable, responsive, and GENUINELY cares! Wendy in the business office is also fantastic! Super helpful, funny, patient, and always happy to answer questions or walk you through anything. My Mother has lived at this facility for 2 1/2 years. She calls Brookdale South her home. She has had excellent care from the staff, specifically Sandra, Rene, Avigail and considers them and the rest of the staff part of her family. She was always very active and participated in most of the activities. Unfortunately, my mother's health has deteriorated and she is no longer able to help take care of herself so she is having to move into long term care at another facility. I was at the facility 5-7 days a week visiting my Mom and witnessed the caring attitude of everyone there towards my mom and the other residents. Ashley at the front desk is fantastic and Jessie and Kellie were always there to answer any questions I had with a smile and a hug. They truly had genuine, caring attitude

I had an order to deliver to a residential who lives at this Senior Living. There was a gentleman and a woman just talking amongst themselves. Didn't even acknowledge me when I came in. The woman who he supposed to be the receptionist at the desk was too busy talking. They didn't say hello or thank you. She just took the delivery out of my hand just continued about her business. What kind of establishment is this. I feel sorry for the residents who live here.

I stop in Brookdale South often as a home health provider. The residents I have worked with have nothing but positive things to say about the community. I see the management out and about interacting and they are always pleasant and willing to help in any way. I have seen numerous improvements to the communities interior over the last few years, including a new community room and apartment updates. I look forward to visiting Brookdale each week!
