Typical used car sales, purchased a 2017 Mazda CX-5. Reasonable 100k vehicle with minor issues. The process was smooth, but the execution was poor. When it was pointed out that the vehicle has known transmission timing issues, I was gas lit the entire time where the folks from the dealership said all CX-5s had similar issues and there was nothing that could be done to fix it. I pointed out the issue that was published and known, they attempted to fix it with a transmission flush, they replaced the CV joints, better but not perfect. It needed a software update that they could have taken to Manchester Mazda to get done. On principle, I took the car to Manchester Mazda for an inspection and software updates. Dealership was very responsive so went to see the car. It was immaculate both inside and out with 132k miles and priced to sell. The owner and his salesperson were very accommodating, letting me take the car to my mechanic for review. Upon initial inspection there were no issues so proceeded with the purchase of the car. After about 6 weeks car had a mechanical issue that was unknown to my mechanic and the dealer that would have been a very costly repair. UNSAFE VEHICLE - Major fuel leak within 5 days of purchase I bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica from Car City LLC on January 12, 2026. On their pre-sale inspection form, they certified the "Fuel System" as PASS. However, only 5 days later (January 17), after filling up the tank, the car stalled while I was driving and would not restart. The entire vehicle filled with a dangerously strong smell of gasoline. Because a high-pressure fuel leak while driving is a major fire hazard and an immediate safety emergency, I had to tow it to a nearby mechanic immediately to prevent a disaster. The mechanic confirmed a damaged fuel pressure line and sensor—a major defect that should have been caught during their "inspection." I have to say it was an amazing purchase experience. I was on the lot five minutes before I saw two vehicles that caught my interest. The price and mileage on both were enticing.
