Joe did a 2.5 swap with stage 2+ cams for me when my NC1 2.0 died, and at this point I’m really happy with the decision, experience, and result. I reached out to Joe before Christmas, had a quick chat with him, agreed on plan, and he had my Miata on a truck from GA to TX the SAME DAY. $450 transport got my Miata to him and a few days later it was ready for pickup. I flew into San Antonio Monday the 30th, spent an hour at his shop going over the work, and was in Alabama by midnight. Made it home to GA the next day with no drama whatsoever. I drove it home solo about a thousand miles. The car runs great, pulls noticeably harder below 4k rpm in particular, and is just so much fun. I liked it before, love it now. There are some bad reviews here; I read every one of them before making the ca

I have had my 06 MX-5 with Joe numerous times, and every time the car is handed to me has been nice and smooth with no problems. Joes knowledge for these vehicles is second to none! The quality of his work is superb! Every time I go to him , we talk about the goals I have for this car and how we can achieve it. He has always guided me with his expertize and realism to the car. I have gone from stock 2.0 to 2.5 built engine with his turbo kit and an automatic trans and maann , the car is a rocket! With that being said, throughout this whole journey, we have had communication and has helped me along the way. When a problem arises, we talk about it and move forward with it. Highly recommend Dynotronics for all your Mazda needs!

This summer, the engine in my NC Miata gave out, and I decided it was time for a swap. After calling several local shops, I was quoted anywhere from $6,000 to $9,000 for engines with nearly 100,000 miles on them. That price seemed way too high for me, so I looked on the Miata forums and saw that the 2.5 swap seemed to be a better option. I reached out to Joe, and he explained the whole process over the phone. His price was better than anybody else— $3,900 out the door for the swap, shipping the car from Oregon to Texas, and a new clutch. The nice thing as well was that I didn’t have to pay anything upfront. I shipped my car to him, gave him a deadline for when I needed it finished, and he had ready on time for me. I drove the car back home 2,400 miles with with zero issues. I'm around 3,

Bought a 1 Goal Performance intake manifold in aluminum for my NC miata 2.5 swap. The part was installed fall of 2022. It is a fair weather car. I drove it in the summer of 2023 no problems and at the start of the 2024 summer the welds of the mainfold were cracking and it was failing a leak test. It is out of its 90 day warranty. Seeing what the reweld warranty is.

I had a 2006 6-speed Miata GT with a blown factory engine. After doing some research online, I shipped the car down to TX from CT right before Christmas for a 2.5 L swap from a Ford Fusion - a stock engine with Dynotronics' special tuning. The work was done in less than a week. I flew down to get the car right after New Years with the intention of driving it home. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about doing an 1,800 mile trip with a new powerplant (not to mention the summer tires) given that a major snowstorm was coming, but the engine purred the entire trip home. I averaged 25.4 mpg at a steady 75 mph. I cannot say enough good stuff about Joe McClughan. If you're looking to have any engine work done on your Miata, this guy is the real deal.
