Hertz Car Rental - East Providence - Taunton Avenue

The people are great, well, one person was great. This review is for corporate, not E Providence location. The app and the company, not so much. I needed to change return date and location. You’d think I could do it on the app, but you’d be wrong. So I try calling. Nope. Worse. They use AI assistant that isn’t helpful to even find a new return location when given a zip code. How? How can it not find local offices to a zip code? It asked me for a location. What? What? You’re the AI with access to more info than I. I had to go to the rental office to make changes to only find out that once the rental starts, they have to call the same 900 number I did and was on hold for 18 mins waiting for a human before I gave up and took the AI option. Terrible experience — unprofessional and unsafe I booked this rental well in advance and chose Hertz because they advertise family-friendly services. I was traveling with a one-year-old and a three-year-old, so car seat safety was essential. After flying in and Ubering to this location in 30-degree weather, we were ignored while two employees had a personal conversation. Once acknowledged, we were told our vehicle was ready — but they only had one car seat, despite our reservation requiring two. I was told to drive to another location to get the second car seat, which would have put my child at risk. There was no apology, no accountability, and no concern for customer safety. My husband had to step in before any solution was offered. I will never rent from Hertz again and do not recomm

The worst experience of my life. $500 a week for a vehicle with NO headlights, no high beams, right rear brake light OUT, right rear license plate tag light is OUT, Spiders, bees, infestation, wiper blades that suddenly stop and do not park correctly. RPM’s near zero at red lights, chugging. Received 2021 kIA Sportage dirty and without a drop of gas. Staff is arrogant! In East Providence.

I regret that after having rented from this location previously with great service, today I can't say the same. A simple question to the female attendant, asking what vehicles were available today, she refused to say and most unkindly agreed that it was worth me finding a vehicle from another vendor. She rudely agreed she would rather lose a customer than to explain what vehicles were available.

The worst experience ever! Especially Mike the man on the left. Came here waisted 2 hours even though I have an reservation. He said will have a car ready for you just needs to be cleaned. After waiting for exactly 2 hours said we are busy and don’t have enough help your car won’t be ready for pick up. Very poor customer relations and communication. Like it is my fault they don’t have enough staff. Please save your time and don’t come here this place deserves no business. Wouldn’t ever come back.
