I am not sure why this place has a lot of bad ratings, but by far this has been one of the decent hertz locations I have ever been to across the northeast. It is small, but they have a decent availability of cars as you need. I had a really friendly manager who I interacted with and he helped me upgrade to a midsize to a brand new nissan sentra when an economy compact car wasn't available. The car was really nice, was super clean and was well-maintained for a rental. I was happy for the price I paid for and I was able to go around easily with a rental car. They did hold a 200$ security deposit which I eventually got within 48 hours of returning the rental car. Great set of cars and outstanding customer service by this hertz location. Would recommend this location to others who are in need

The local manager told me he's working to make it better but the walk around should have been a red flag when the rental agent tried to argue with me that the dent in the picture was actually a design feature of the car. It went downhill from there: 1. Picked up the car got on my drive home the dash lights up service required, called the branch they said ignore it. 2..Called Hertz corporate closest replacement car is at Logan, so the call the branch and they say ok we will service it now. 3. They service it and clean the food that was sitting in the door pockets okay ready to finally go 4 hours after pick up. 4. I open the trunk before leaving, it's full of dog hair. 5. I'm told the branch manager will call because everyone says "I'm Sorry" but no one offers to compensate me for the aggrev

A good experience, after my car was in an accident I of course needed a rental, once I filed my claim online I almost immediately got an email or text telling me that Hertz had a car waiting for me whenever I was ready. I went later that day. It took about ten minutes and I was out of there. It was a nice car, a Nissan Rogue. It was very clean inside and out. Returning it was no different, I would use them again.

Here’s the updated version with that warning added clearly at the end: ⭐☆☆☆☆ I rented a car for four days and returned it thinking everything was fine. The next day, I noticed a separate charge of $22.74 on my account. When I called the office, the Hertz representative insisted it was a toll charge and argued with me, even after I explained that I only drove locally and did not go through any tolls. After going back and forth for 10–15 minutes, he told me to contact customer service instead. I then spent another 30–40 minutes on the phone with customer service, only to find out that I had been incorrectly marked as a “no show.” The $22.74 charge was not for a toll at all, but for being listed as a no show. Thankfully, I checked my credit card statement or I would have never known. Rent

Terrible service, takes too long to get a car and too long to return a car. If being in an accident and getting a car from insurance isn’t miserable enough, add hertz North Chelmsford in to make the experience that much worse. Place is run out of a closet and the lot is jammed packed.
