I've watched this company abused towing cars multiple times. It's not even myself. I know of multiple people who gotten an accident and had a hard time getting their car back from this company in particular. They'll do absolutely everything they can to keep the vehicle there longer and increase storage fees. Really a scummy business model to take advantage of others misfortune. For instance, a friend of mine was in an accident and I wanted to go pay for the toast so the car would get returned back to his house. I don't want the car. I'm not the registered owner. I get that but take it back to the registered owner's house... And they won't do it, obviously because they want more storage fees while the poor guy is in the hospital. Jimmy and Ricky are keeping my vehicles on the road! As an owner of older vehicles I count on the pros at McGowan's to identify and repair all maintenance issues. In 2015 I bought a Jeep. It was a lemon. The dealership couldn't/wouldn't fix it. I honestly don't think they could figure out what was wrong with it. Even though it was a new vehicle under warranty, I decided to stop wasting time and took it to McGowan's. The Jeep and Jimmy spent a lot of time together that first 30,000 miles but the alternative was to trade it (risk getting another lemon) and have some unsuspecting person to buy my problem. When my vehicle was hit on HWY 70, my first call was to McGowan's. Multiple cars were involved so I let another driver call 911. I could have waited for the police to call a towing service,

Was googling to see their hours and noticed they didn't have as many 5 stars as they should so: I've taken my 05 Avalanche to McGowan's ~2.5 years. Their lobby is always spotless, they are prompt in their service, and extremely knowledgeable. They've always been up front about their work load and when they can get to your vehicle. They are honest, fairly priced, and will take the time out of their busy day to thoroughly explain what is going on with your vehicle. They are the only place in New Bern I trust with my truck. I would recommend McGowan's to anyone because of their fair prices and they have shown through their actions that they really do look out for their customers.

So I go to this garage already knowing what's wrong with the car asked him for an oil change and it I had three admission issues with the prior scan I'd already had ran... So the god brings the car out 30 minutes later I asked him well that's quick he said it doesn't take that long for an oil change and I said that's not why I brought it in and then he starts telling me and very hateful voice he doesn't care about the scan that I ran and he started singing all these things that are wrong with the car that I know that. I'm not wrong with it.... The man talk to me like I was dirt on the bottom of his feet so I went in and asked to speak to the owner then the owner comes out and it's equally as hateful.. charge me $70 for an oil change.. an oil change usually runs 30 to $40...
