Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers

VERY IMPRESSED & NEW CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! It’s great to find an HONEST auto service business! I brought my vehicle to Mr. Tire because my Kia dealership told me that my brake pads needed to be replaced (front 4mm & rear 3mm). Not wanting to pay dealership prices, I brought our vehicle to Mr. Tire based on my neighbor’s recommendation. When I got a call from Mr. Tire I assumed they were calling to tell me my vehicle was ready to be picked up, but to my surprise I was told that “they could not in good conscience perform this service because my brake pads were no where near needing to be replaced.” They provided pictures of my brake pads along with the measurements (10mm front & 7mm rear) and told me that they were going to write the service up as a complementary break inspection.

I have been disappointed both times I chose to bring my car to this business. My first experience was at Mr. Tire Auto Service in Burke. I needed a brake and caliper replacement. I dropped my car off early in the morning and was told the work would take only a few hours, which was completely acceptable. However, I did not receive any updates at all. At 3 PM, after I finally called them, I was told there was an issue and the repair would take a little longer. Every time I called after that, I was told to give them another 30 minutes to an hour. By 6 PM, after multiple calls and no proactive communication, I was suddenly asked if I could pick the car up the next day. This was entirely unreasonable, as I needed my vehicle for work. Maybe this is why mechanics (not all of them) get a bad reputation: Zero Transparency on their Pricing. They completed the service successfully this is why I gave them 2 stars. Their problem is having a person with an attitude at the front desk who is not transparent about the pricing. I came to this store the last week to have the tire valve and pressure sensor of my car replaced. I requested a verbal cost estimate and was given the price of the part ($79.99) + the labor ($45). I am a financially responsible consumer and don't like surprise fees. This week I went to drop off the car and the guy tells me there is a miscellaneous fee of $12.49 for tire lubricant (he said that to me with an attitude and told me "please don't argue with me"). I received excellent service today. John accommodated my schedule and kindly prioritized my car as I was on-site. He answered multiple questions from me and ensured I knew how to receive my rebate for the oil change. Results of my safety inspection were effectively communicated. Thanks!
