National Car Rental

We had an excellent experience with National Car Rental, and I cannot recommend them enough. The process was smooth from start to finish, which is exactly what you want when you’re ready to get on the road. A special shout-out to Thelma, who assisted me at check-in. She was incredibly professional, efficient, and welcoming. Her helpful attitude made the entire pickup process a breeze and started my trip off on the right foot. The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed. It's rare to find such consistent, high-quality service, but Thelma and the rest of the team truly delivered. I will definitely be choosing National for my future rentals.

The Status Experience: As an Executive Elite member, the experience here was a bit different. ​No Benefits and no emerald aisle: I received no EE member benefits (like the usual "Emerald Aisle" choice). I booked a Malibu and was assigned a Malibu, so no upgrades this time. ​The Car: The car had about 25,000 miles on it, but it was reliable and clean inside. ​Logistics & Service: ​Shuttle: We had to wait a little bit for the shuttle to get from arrivals to the rental center, but it wasn't terrible. ​Staff: The staff was friendly and helpful. ​Billing (Important Tip!): Make sure to check your receipt before you leave. ​The Error: They accidentally added an auto-refill charge (fuel service). ​** The Fix:** I caught it, and I was able to correct it with the staff, but you have to be vigilant.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE Unfortunately, the person checking me out had the audacity to charge me for half a gallon of gas, without mentioning anything about an extra charge. This is absolutely unacceptable, considering: a) the needle on the car was as high as it can go b) the nearest gas station is only 1.5 miles away (the gas station I filled up at was 2.5 miles away). Maximum, I only used 1/10th of a gallon between filling up the car and returning it. c) I pay a premium to rent with National to not have to deal with stuff like this. I could've gone with a different company and saved a ton of money. Yes, the charge for gas was small, but it's dishonest (and possibly illegal) to scam people, even if it's only a couple dollars. Amazing experience! Great deal on a new Chevy Malibu which had excellent fuel economy. Fast, friendly service and as we were waiting to fly home to Vancouver Canada my mother in law realized she left her purse in the car. The shuttle driver was a huge help and took us back to national and the employees came running out with the keys and we found the purse and still made the flight home. Thanks again to all of you!!

We've had a wonderful experience with National at the Kona airport. We were travelling with two little kids and a lot of luggage and Ana and Roxhann were so helpful! I can't recommend National more, this is definitely the best car rental location. The cars drive amazing and the staff is amazing. Thank you so much.
