Best smog and repair shop in town! I went in for a smog check and was taken in right away. The owner (Alex) and I ended up talking about cars, and he gave me tips on how to fix things myself. He diagnosed an issue with my other car at home for free. He didn’t try to upsell me or charge me for something I could easily fix myself at home. He genuinely cared about helping me more than just making money!

Highly recommend. Best spot to get your smog done bar none. Alex is super helpful and if your car needs repairs he is your man. Keeps you posted throughout the process which is rare to find these days. Live in Morgan Hill and the drive down to Gilroy is well worth it for the service.

Great service and pricing. Alex is also one of the most professional and trustworthy mechanics I've met. My truck failed smog at another location, but Alex was able to quickly locate and fix my problem. I'll definitely be coming back.

Great experience with Prime Smog Check in Gilroy. Had an older car (2012) that failed smog due to a tricky code that caused an intermittent check engine light to go on. Alex at Prime Smog first ran a diagnostic and confirmed the code (even though the light was off at the time), and then performed a smoke test to determine the likely cause of the issue, which ended up being a worn seal in the fuel filler assembly. Alex ordered the parts, replaced the worn part, and then proactively checked in over the next several days via text to ensure the check engine light was staying off and the code was staying cleared. When I re-smogged the car after the repair, it passed with flying colors. Thank you, Alex! Great service, amazing communication. Highly recommended.
