Take your business elsewhere. Called and said my car had been overheating when idling, and that I had trouble starting it that afternoon. They said it sounded like a radiator issue and I could drop it off and get it fixed. I got the car back a couple days later with only new spark plugs and an air filter? Not even an hour into driving and my car overheated even WORSE to the point that I pulled over and the engine was smoking. I went back to my car later and all the coolant had leaked out of the engine. Absolutely unacceptable. Went back the next day with photos, asking for a refund, and was told “your car needed that work, it needed a tune-up”. Of course I was denied a refund and was told I could not be seen to get my car properly fixed til about three weeks out.

Do not take older or classic cars here. Kept my car for over 3 months for maybe a 2 week job. Sat for a month before it was even touched. Was lied to multiple times, about it being worked on soon, saying “this week” multiple times but still not touching it. Also lied about repairs. Said “all gauges working fine” but when I got it back the speedometer still did not work. Just gave up on fixing the cigarette port after it shorted, again not telling me until it was picked up. Made me find, source, and deliver parts on my own. Never informed me on new issues that arose or any costs for them like I asked. Could go on. Nice guy but service overall was a nightmare and disappointing. Could’ve gone somewhere else for cheaper and faster work, which I will be doing next time.

Timmy has been my go to mechanic for the last 20 years, you could not ask for a better businessman. He will always advise you with the best recommendation to keep things affordable for you and never ever. Would you have to worry about being overcharged or being taken advantage of. You’ll never not walk into this shop not seeing Timmy smile so if you want a great mechanic with fair prices in a great business acumen, go to Stricklands!!

The friendliest local auto repair shop known to Maine! Owned by such a kindhearted man and father, coming here always has such a welcoming feeling! I highly recommend the service here aswell as attending the car shows that take place over the summer.

Had my Tundra there today for some new tires to be mounted and truck inspection. They began the work promptly and were effective in getting me back on the road. Very nice to speak with and work with. I’ll be back.
