After sliding into a round-a-bout curb during a freezing rain and ice storm, my rear left wheel’s control arm was crushed. I searched for a repair shop in Northfield, Minnesota, 65 miles from home, and arrived at their shop after a harrowing, unstable, 5mph drive for 10 miles in a raging ice storm, just half an hour before closing. Fortunately, they were specialists in foreign cars. They put my Volvo in one of their service bays and drove me to a restaurant to wait for my ride home.
