I took my car there today because it was close by for where I needed to be and all I needed was a WV inspection. I've been working my cars since I was a teenager, 40 years ago... Not much I can't fix. I go to shops to be legal and that's it. Today I went here and I was told they could get to me in 40 minutes, no problem I can wait. The problem is (and this may be fine for your average customer) it wasn't just an inspection, they checked everything on the car. Not what I was looking for, just needed a safety inspection so I could be on my way. I waited, I waited, and after almost one hour after the start time my car was done. My car stopped running on my way home from work so I had it towed to Autoserv. I had been using them for a few years and it seemed like they were reasonable with the annual inspection. This time the experience was far different. After having the car for a few days I was told I needed a new battery and was charged $500 for a the battery and diagnostics. About a week later the car stopped running again while I had lent it to my daughter- I had to drive to Ashburn to rescue her. Took the car back to Autoserv where they attempted to charge me another $160 for diagnostics and told me it was the transmission, gave me a $7,000 estimate and said that I should get rid of the car.
