Rick is probably one of the most honest and transparent mechanics/shop owners that I’ve had service my car. My Jeep grand Cherokee was at a dealer service shop and they were trying to charge me $4000 to do two repairs. I called this shop and spoke to Rick. He informed me they would be much cheaper than dealing with the dealership so I decided to give them a chance. Rick did the inspection and informed me only one of the repairs needed to be done and the only amount that I owed was $1000. He also explained to me why the dealership would try and get me to perform the repair that he suggested did not need to be done currently. I will forever take my car to this shop while I live in the Charleston area.

I highly recommend Autoworks Of Charleston! Rick and his crew are honest, professional, and timely! We have had multiple repairs done here over the last few years for our older vehicles (Honda Odyssey, F-150, and BMW 328) and always receive great service. Our vehicles have always been ready on time or early. By far a much better experience than a dealership garage.

New to town, first time having service @ Autoworks Charleston. 2017 Porsche Macan, slow leak left rear tire. Called on Friday afternoon, Rick got me in Monday 8am. They also have key drop off if needed. Rick greeted me, confirmed my issue and cell #. Called me within the hour with the diagnosis: $3.95 for a new valve stem and $60 labor. $75 total all in, no over-selling for any other repair. Found my independent mechanic with no other agenda other than fixing my car for the issue I had - at the right price! I’ll be back.

I have been coming here for a few years now and they are amazing. They always tell you exactly what’s going on, and they really make an effort to give you the best price they can. They are always honest if there’s a holdup with a repair, they let you know exactly what’s going on, and are always polite and understanding over the phone. They are really dependable and I recommend them to everyone, they truly want to help you! Don’t take your car anywhere else!

Labor; $150 / hr Parts; depending on the part they will use somewhat expensive parts either OEM or OEM adjacent parts, and the shop warranties their work. Communication; 10/10 they always answer the phone and communicate exactly what theyre doing, the cost, the hours, and when theyll do it. Speed; very fast. I drop my vehicle off the day before and usually by noon the next day theyll have the job done. Quality of work; excellent work with incredible attention to detail. They put marker on the threads for the correct length if needed, put bolts in an orientation that is easier to work on in the future, and use new hardware where necessary. i dont enjoy having to fork over money for work i could do my self, but for work i cant or couldnt be bothered to do this shop has been incredible.
