Budget Car Rental

Oddly Budget was the only rental desk with an extremely long line on a Friday morning with only 1 rep working the counter. Alamo, national, Enterprise, Hertz were all pretty empty. I waited for an hour in line while Avis Preferred (oddly no Budget Fastbreak) jumping ahead. I would go with another rental company if I ever came back to Eugene. Other locations did not have that bad staffing planned for busy days. And this could have been forecasted based on reservations, so this long line and wait could have been avoided. There was no car damage checking. The Nissan Rogue had 30k miles on it, no Apple Carplay nor Android Auto, and had 2 issues on the car I would have highlighted if they had a rep at the parking lot. Edit: after calling today and calmly asking for details on what the 103 due charge and other random charges were for a Prius, (total was supposed to be 56) I was muted and the agent left and emailed a receipt with updated charges. So no explanation given. A quick google search reveals this is a frequent issue so check your bills and get those receipts, not avoid this rental place. Reservation said checked in by Geno, who would not give us a receipt, and said it would be emailed. It never was, and imagine our surprise when we received our charges on the card that were for triple the cost. I just dropped off a car that I rented for 28 days. I turned it in 10 days early and got charged 81% of the original charge. I was told there was no early drop off fee. I asked the guy at the front desk to explain the up charges and he said he was new and gave me a customer service number that was automated and closed. I could tell he just wanted me to leave and let it go so I left and am writing this review. I got an advertisement and reservation for 30 something a day and the actual charges were more like $59/day.

My family and I rented a Ford Exposition from the Budget in Eugene for a total of seven days. We had specified a drop off time of 2 pm. our flight was at 4 pm. We were running a little behind and dropped the vehicle a couple of minutes late. The Budget desk recorded our drop off at 3 pm. We were charged an additional days rental of over $300 for being less than an hour late. I have rented many cars throughout the years and have never been charged so excessively for being slightly off on a specific drop off time. I attempted to contact customer or the rental and desk and was routed through a call center. The person I spoke with would not allow me to speak with a supervisor. He told me I would have to respond with a boarding pass to an email he was sending. That email was never received.

On the website it states for a DEBIT/credit card for deposit. Made a reservation they took the money for the car and would take deposit at pickup. Arrived to Eugene airport and gave them my debit card. They stated they don’t take chime or cashapp. Was told I needed a card from a banking institution. My boyfriend arrived 2 hours later with his bank card. We were then told they didn’t take that and now saying it has to be a credit card only. Wouldn’t let his dad use his credit card to cover costs bc he wasn’t there physically ( he lives 5 hours away and we were traveling to visit him ) so then I was out $117 that they already took from me and was stranded for many hours in Eugene with my 4 kids. Will never recommend this company to anyone. They lie and scam you out of money
