It’s not often you find an auto shop you can fully trust, but this is one of them. They do the fundamentals right: fast, friendly, and fair. I brought my Jeep in to have a taillight replaced, and the entire process was seamless, professional, and stress-free from start to finish. While my vehicle was being worked on, I had a great conversation with the owner, which made the experience even better. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in running an honest, integrity-driven business. I’ll absolutely be coming back for future needs and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable automotive service.

I brought my husband’s 2021 Chevy pick up in for an oil change. One of the guys suggested that we monitor the oil due to the rate it was burning at and get it checked out by the dealership because we were 90 miles away from being out of warranty. We took it to the dealership and confirmed the oil was burning at a much faster rate then it should be. But having the guys at Central Automotive guide us we were able to submit a ticket before a very big problem occurred that would likely cost us $10,000. We can’t thank them enough for their attention to the detail during our routine oil change.

After confirming by phone, I brought my vehicle in for a battery inspection. They said the check would be free. When I arrived, they diagnosed issues and started repairs without my consent. They told me only after I asked. The quoted cost was 930 USD. They said they had already ordered and were changing both the main and auxiliary batteries. I asked them to cancel. This was a major expense that I never approved. I later went to another shop. They confirmed both batteries were original and healthy. The real issue was a minor settings problem. They also left my trunk completely disorganized. Items were removed and not put back. I was asked to pay 65 USD with no receipt. This contradicts what I was told on the phone about free diagnosis. So I paid 2400 dollars which is admitted already a high price for the work done expecting id at least be receiving what I paid for. I paid to have purge valve solenoid replaced, a replacement oxygen sensor my water outlet housing and valve cover and gaskets, and my turbofhsrger oil feed line replacedzm. However despite paying said amount to get the problem fixed and even paying for what's essentially a useless service to "remove old acidic coolant from vehicle cooling system" which I only paid for because of the part about it being tested for coolant leaks and specifically road tested. their own document on shows my car entered and exited at the exact same odometer reading. Meaning said road testing never occured and they never drove my wife's car. Not something I noticed before today. T

What can I say, I was traveling from Davenport to Iowa city. The engine cover came off my car, I pulled up to Central Automotive and they got me in and out! Complete professionals there. I forget there names but one of the guys says he bartends on the weekend. I'll travel from Davenport to Iowa City for car maintenance because those guys left that good of an impression.
