Hertz Car Rental - Dayton International Airport

They had a car for me at the time I went to the counter but when I tried to book a car 2 days before they would not let me book. The person at the counter said that they do that so they do not over book the cars; not cool. Also, the charges of the car were quite high and when I asked and said, "even if I'm a Hertz member?" and the person behind the counter said that this location is not tied to the Corporate office but independent but that didn't make sense if they are using the Hertz logos then the prices should be more in line to what i would expect to be charged.

Had a situation where I picked up a junky and dirty rental car from Columbus with engine issues and required emergency roadside assistance. Hertz connected me with the team at the Dayton Airport and got me a new car, which had no issues and was extremely clean. Shelly was extremely helpful and efficiently switched cars with me and sent me on my way within 5 minutes. I can tell by how they handled that situation that rental pick-up and drop-off with them would be the same! Thank you!

I had a very positive experience at this Hertz. The check in lady was very friendly & fast The car they gave me looked to be brand new and was lovely to drive. -1 Star because I noted some scratches on the vehicle as a part of my initial check out of the vehicle. The guy noted it on my form and then casually told me he was going to contact the previous renter and charge them for the scratches. I asked how he knew it was the previous renter. He shrugged and said "Well, it's their responsibility to identify them " meaning that even if it wasn't their fault, the fact that they didn't catch it made them liable. While I get this is valid on a level, who's to say those scratches didn't come from a Hertz employee cleaning or moving the vehicle? I dont know if he actually went through with the t

I rented a car back in the spring and everything seemed fine until a few months later. I received a letter saying that Hertz filed an insurance claim against the car I rented with them. They claimed I damaged the car and it needed extensive body work. Shocked, I reached out to the claim agency and submitted the walk around photos I took before which proved that the damage they submitted was done before I had the car in my possession. Also not sure why they would rent out a damaged up car. Luckily, the claim was dropped by the agency BUT I am extremely disappointed that Hertz filed the claim and clearly tried to blame the damages on me. So apparently someone did not enter my information correctly in the system because the 800 number for roadside service could not find my info. I had a tire that was a slow leak. I was very surprised to find essentially 4 bald tires on the truck. The agent who returned the car even was surprised and said they were going to put a new set on after my return. I’ve never thought about looking at the tires before because I thought it was a given that the tires would be good! Guess not.
