Hertz Car Rental - Kahului Airport

Gold Members here: booked well in advance. Told by agent when name was not on the board in the parking deck to go to row three out of the gold area and wait for a car. Over an hour and no car. Told by fleet services we have to wait for a midsize regardless of how long it takes. Other cars available, but apparently we cannot use those cars. Never have we been treated like this at a hertz location. Do not recommend as this is clearly how the system works here.

Decent outfit, first world services with no weird payments or fees or anything surprising. One minor surprise is that they hot-bed the cars. This means we had to await cleaning the care prior to it being drive to the parking spot you collect it from. Which involves a queue. So you queue for a car and it comes... Whenever it's been returned and cleaned from the previous renter. About a 15 minute wait later we were sorted, so no real drama. We went for the managers special and so had the cheapest daily rate, but received a Kia K4, a mid sized car and great value. There is a free tram from the airport to the rental place, which is a dedicated bit facility for renting cars in Maui. Thanks!

This was my first and last time booking with Hertz. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Worst possible service of the front desk. One of two women, Carla, needs to be fired! She doesn’t know how to deal with customers, show any respect, or talk to them. I’m pretty sure she hates her job. Both the women, especially her, are rude and unprofessional. They also have attitude problems. Furthermore, the car, for the price, was way too average. It kept showing oil change notification throughout the time we had it. Honestly for such a horrible service and below average car, why take the hassle? There are so many other car companies who provide you excellent service. There’s no reason to select this one. Do Not rent a vehicle from the Maui Airport Hertz!!!!!!! The employees are unprofessional and incompetent. The manager had a shirt displaying other rental companies. They all yell and scream at customers. Everyone must stand in a long line not matter your Gold Status etc. There were dozens of very angry customers there the whole time. No one was receiving the right vehicle. Our vehicle size reserved was not there and we were given a smaller vehicle with no credit. Plus they wanted to charge us for a larger vehicle more like the one we reserved. But then they could not find one nor knew if one was due in. They refused to exchange for other larger vehicles on site. The vehicle we received was extremely dirty. You could not even see out the windows nor were the side mirrors usable d

The team members at the Maui (OGG) airport were caring, kind, and very helpful. Even though our rental didn’t start off as planned due to circumstances outside of their control, the staff handled everything with patience and professionalism. The check-in crew was friendly and made the process smooth once we were able to get things figured out. I really appreciated their attitude and customer service. We also were able together an upgrade no extra cost.
