Hertz Car Rental - Seatac - Seattle-tacoma International Airport (SEA)

Straight forward and easy hiring process. The lady at the front desk was warm and helpful, she ran though some optional extras and as we were travelling a long way we chose the roadside assistance option to be safe but she wasn’t pushy and didn’t try to force anything on us. The pick up was simple as it gets and the drop off was quick and stress free. No issues with the car for the whole two weeks and we covered nearly 5000 miles.

We rented a car from Hertz in Seattle and while the rental itself turned out great, the pick-up experience was disappointing. The agent at the counter pushed a lot of extra services and fees on us, including insurance we didn’t need because we were already fully covered. She also tried to upsell us to a more expensive car so we’d have 4WD, insisting that the model we had booked didn’t include it. We declined all the offers and to our surprise, our Hyundai Tucson did have 4WD after all. The car itself was fantastic and made our road trip really enjoyable. The only downside: it was quite dirty at pick-up, which wasn’t what we expected. Overall, we had a good trip despite the start. Hertz, please end these aggressive sales tactics at the counter.

I picked up the rental car yesterday 11/27/2025 at this location but the engine temp/coolant light is on this morning 11/28/2025. 11/28/2025 12:48pm at Vancouver airport Hertz. They gave me another rental car, Chevy, but it turned out that it has the same issue again. 1:08pm still at Vancouver airport. The 3rd car they gave me has an issue as well. Oil change due. Never use Hertz anymore

Had a SUV booked online non paid for around 210. This was not including the prepaid fuel surcharge or any tax difference. We arrived early and proceeded with the transaction of getting our vehicle. He tells us to pick what coverage we want, not knowing we could use our own insurance. He proceeded to inform us there is a 200$ hold and to insert our card. wanting to with debit he tells us there is a $500 hold on debit cards. They would also need a bunch of other information and it was just more work for him and he suggested that we use a credit card. I swipe my card and the total comes out to 750$~. I ask him why it's so high and I was expecting around 300 bucks. He proceeds to laugh and say "Welcome to Seattle." I ask if the 200$ hold is included and he says no. So it seems Im looking at

Getting the car wasn’t hard as I had a reservation through a travel agency. Car was clean and worked very well for me. Returning the car was the easiest part. Only minor complaint or reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the long wait to check the car out once you’re physically there. From my experience there was a long line, and only two employees assisting customers. I can stay calm and patient for a while but I could hear the frustration from others in the line. Other than that, once I was able to see the staff they were very courteous and helpful.
