I've been purchasing vehicles and coming for repairs and inspections for years, and I have zero intention of changing that. Hassle-free, no-interest financing in house, and a huge inventory of new and used parts for quick and efficient repairs. Jenn has saved my butt on multiple occasions, allowed me to put repair bills on payment plans when times were tough, and always has my best interest in mind. And now even my mom brings her newer vehicle to her for repairs to avoid paying dealership rates. Great service, experienced and efficient techs, and reasonable prices. Jim's is the best!

We can't thank Jim's Used Cars and Auto in Ellsworth enough. My Jetta's engine light came on right before we were supposed to leave to return home to Georgia. They not only got me in the same day to diagnose the issue but also were able to get the part the next day and fix it all within 24 hours. The price we paid was more than reasonable for the work done/part/labor and quick turnaround. We were told by other companies in the area that they weren't accepting new clients and/or it would take over a week to diagnose the problem, so we were thrilled about how quickly the mechanics at Jim's were able to get us in. We also were BIG FANS of Tank and Turbo they are amazing greeters!

Came to Maine for a road trip from South Carolina, my check engine light came on and no one else would either take the VW or they were booked. This mechanic was booked up but they allowed me to come in and fix it. My only issue is I wish they would’ve told me they switched the ignition coils and if the engine light came back on they would know the problem. However I take ultimate fault for going to the advance in Ellsworth and they cleared the light (without my consent!). Ultimately they couldn’t fix it the second time because of the employee that cleared the scan but again he was opened and honest about not wanting to throw parts at the car if it didn’t need it. Thankfully we made it home safe, next time we’re in the area and something goes wrong (which I hope it doesn’t!) we would come b

Jen and her crew are fantastic, down to earth people. Working hard to get people into quality car and trucks. I’ve done business with Jim’s auto for years now, anytime I’ve needed a vehicle or a part for something I’m working on Jen has always gone above and beyond to help me out. Great selection of reliable rides (Subarus and Toyotas) almost always available. As long as you do your part and make on time payments you have nothing to worry about. Very high prices for services, their first goal is separating you from your money, not being forthcoming or providing high quality service. According to mechanical forums on the internet I was overcharged severely for a repair. I only used them because it was an emergency. I would not recommend anyone get any work done here if you can help it. There are more consistently affordable places around town, and I am just not a fan with how they conducted themselves, despite being neither overtly rude or incompetent. They also replaced a part during an inspection and told me I failed on several separate, new items. When i brought it back to the original place, they passed me. Weird.
