Maranatha

I have lived in Assisted Living for 2 years. My experiences are pretty positive. I enjoy the activities and meals for the most part. The nursing staff and personal care attendants are attentive and helpful. I have been in the care center for post hospital stays. The physical therapy dept is very good. I ‘m very glad my family had me take a tour. It may not be the most glamorous but the staff is caring and helpful.

We have been here for 9 months and absolutely love it here. It has really been a Blessing to me. I like having people our age to have conversations with. And Marantha has a terrific activities program. There is something going on everyday if you want to attend like I do. I have made so many great friends here. We don't have to worry about taking out garbage, shoveling snow or any of the things you have to do if you have a home. It is definitely a "Happy Place". The staff is fantastic. Very helpful.

My mother-in law has been a resident of Maranatha since 2021. The staff are wonderful and she is well cared for. Whenever we take her out she is welcomed back warmly by name. She enjoys the activities. She is in a double room which seems like a private room as she has a wall between her and her roommate and her own bathroom. The facility is kept very clean. Clinical and administrative staff are very good at keeping the family informed about any issues and seem to genuinely care about the residents’ well-being.

If you value your loved one, DO NOT entrust them to these people! They hire staff who lack empathy and basic human decency. My loved one was told, "You're in a nursing home. We tell you what to do." It takes them over 2 hours to answer call lights, which I actually believe is a blatant display of disregard for vulnerable life. The way my loved one is spoken to is not in a soft, kind, or compassionate manner. It's more akin to contempt, disdain and as if it's a bother to be caring for them. After looking through other reviews, and seeing the responses from Marantha administration, either administration has no clue as to the abuse their staff is perpetrating, or is turning a blind eye and is simply responding as PR control. My father-in-law was here twice for transitional care coming out of the hospital. We were happy with the care he received. I did not think he would come home, but the physical therapy staff worked with him. He really wanted to come back home and worked hard and he did. We now have a 90 year old pastor friend living in the apartments. Before covid he ate in the community lunchroom. Now they bring the meals up to him. He says they treat him very well.
